The Private Inquiry
A single, concentrated engagement, for one situation that will not move
Not every senior leader wants an ongoing partnership. Sometimes there is one consequential situation, thought through from every angle and still not shifting, and what it needs is depth rather than duration. It might be a relationship at the top that has hardened, or a decision that keeps stalling however it is approached.
The Work
We work where understanding the situation has not been enough to change it. Before we meet, you set out the situation in confidence and I study it. Then, in a single deep session, we find what has been holding it. That is almost always closer to you than to the situation, often a pattern your own strengths have made hard to see. What shifts is your reading of the situation and the state you meet it from, and that carries into everything downstream of you.
The inquiry draws on two of the eight vertical capabilities in the Arc of Leadership Consciousness. Self as Instrument brings your own part in the situation into view. Spacious Response gives you room to meet it from choice, where before it drew a reflex.
Structure
A confidential written brief from you, my study and preparation, one ninety-minute private session, and a written synthesis afterwards that is yours to keep.
Outcomes
In your leadership
- ·A precise understanding of what has been holding the situation, including your own part in it
- ·An assumption you can now question, or a difficult reality you can stay with long enough to move
- ·The space to respond from choice when the familiar pressures return
In the situation
- ·A concrete next step you can take with conviction
- ·Movement in a situation that had stalled, as the people around it respond to how you now hold it
- ·A written synthesis to return to when you are back among the people and pressures that made this hard
It stands on its own, and it can open into partnership if the work asks for that.
